Sir Syed Sani Syed Ali Shah Bukhari (Urdu; ) born Syed Ali Shah Bukhari (30 November 1914– 30 March 1979) commonly known as Ali Shah, Molvi Saeeb,Sir Syed Kashmir, Chirag-i-Beerwah, Musleh-Millat was a Kashmiri Muslim pragmatist, Islamic Modernist, Philosopher, Islamic Jurist, social activist and educator in 20th century in Budgam district of Indian administrated Jammu and Kashmir.He founded Anjuman Mazhar Ul Haq in 1951 and Mazhar Ul Haq High School Beerwah in 1934.He also reconstructed the Grand Jamia Masjid Beerwah and made an expansion to it. He was the khateeb (Orator),Imam and Mirwaiz of this Grand Jamia Masjid Beerwah whose foundation stone was laid by his elder brother Late Syed Syeed Shah Bukhari in 1928.( Syed Syeed Shah Bukhari was also the Imam/Mirwaiz of historical Jamia Masjid, Srinagar after Mirwaiz Yousef Sahib till he left the Kashmir valley). He was one of those early pioneers who recognized the critical role of education in the empowerment of the poor and backward Muslim community. He had a broad vision.In more than one ways, Bukhari was one of the greatest social reformers and a great national builder of Jammu and Kashmir particularly Allaqa Beerwah which comprises a major part in central and north kashmir. Nonetheless, he commanded great respect from both Hindus and Muslims for his progressive views and dedication towards the cause of education.
== Early Life and Education ==

Syed Ali Shah Bukhari was born in a noble Syed family in Syed Pora (Soodi Pora)Beerwah on 30 November 1914. His ancestral roots is said to have come from Bukhara in Uzbekistan. His father Syed Gulam Mohamed Bukhari who was a notable religious scholar of district Budgam was close friend of Mirwaiz Mohamed Yusuf Shah. Bukhari studied Arabic, Persian and Islamic literature from his father Gulam Mohamed Bukhari. Later he went for further education to Amritsar with his maternal uncle.He was the second son of his parents,who lived a very simple life, like many of the scholars of his time, and it was from him that the family learned to live in a humble manner.The Leader of the Islam grew up poor but religious, and as his father was a pious and sincere religious Person he was trained accordingly.He was an educator and politician, and an Islamic reformer and modernist. He was a philosopher, a lover of liberty, a champion of his religion, a leader of men,a capable administrator, a persuasive orator and a chivalrous opponent.
